Legal Studies Reading Group

Legal Studies represents one of the most cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary areas of research in the Humanities today, and in keeping with this growing field of interest, members of this group examine the relationship among law, literature, and culture in a variety of historical and institutional contexts. A recent spate of national and international conferences, published monographs and edited volumes indicates a growing excitement about the rich intersection of law, literary studies, political theory, gender studies, social history, and philosophy. This forum allows us to share work in progress and common readings, as well as reach out to colleagues at other institutions whose scholarship intersects with critical legal studies.
The group meets monthly. For inquiries, please contact Amanda Bailey, Department of English.
