After you have been admitted and confirmed your intent to enroll, we will perform an official evaluation of your transfer credit. If you would like to begin to evaluate how your courses may transfer, use our transfer equivalency databases and the following guidelines to help you.

Transfer Course Equivalencies
Depending on the school(s) you have attended, equivalencies for your courses may be listed in one of our online transfer equivalency databases.

Transfer Information System (TIS): Freshman- and sophomore-level courses at UW System schools and Wisconsin Technical Colleges

Transfer Equivalency Database (TED): Currently includes frequently transferred courses from two-year colleges in Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin; TED will continue to be updated with more courses and colleges as current offerings are evaluated.


Transfer Credit Policy
Credit is awarded for college-level course work completed at institutions accredited by a regional or national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Foreign institutions must be recognized by the Ministry of Education in that country. Courses must be similar in nature, level, and content to a course in our undergraduate curriculum and applicable to one of our academic programs. Continuing education courses, graduate-level courses, and courses that are remedial, technical, vocational, or doctrinal in nature are not transferable.

Credit Hours: The maximum number of transferable semester credits from a two-year college is 72. There is no credit limit on transferable credits from a four-year university.

Credit Conversion: If you have taken courses at an institution that uses quarter credit or units other than semester credits, we will convert your quarter credits/units to semester credits. If you have attended an institution that uses quarter credits, you will not lose credits in the conversion. For example, if you have 40 quarter credits (40 x .666 = 26.64), you will receive 27 semester credits.

Credits completed at an international institution will be converted to UW-Madison credits using the average number of credits taken by a UW-Madison student (15 credits per semester). Total degree credits granted may not equal total course credits due to rounding in the conversion of fractional credits to semester hours.

Grades: The grades you received at your previous institution(s) will not be calculated into your UW�Madison grade point average.

Equivalent vs. Elective Credit: Transfer courses with descriptions that closely match the descriptions of courses taught at UW-Madison will generally transfer as direct course equivalent credits. For example, an introductory macroeconomics course at your previous institution will transfer as our Econ 102 Principles of Macroeconomics. Transfer courses that don't have direct course equivalents at UW�Madison will transfer as elective credits within the appropriate academic department. For example, a course on the geography of Hawaii would transfer as geography elective credits because UW�Madison does not offer a course with that particular content. Elective credits count toward a degree in the same way that a direct course equivalent does.

International Language Credit: International students will not be awarded credit for any English coursework or native language coursework completed at a non-U.S. institution since these courses are not taught at the university level in the U.S.

Degree Requirements: Specific degree requirements differ among the various UW�Madison schools and colleges. Transfer credit applies toward degree requirements appropriately, depending on which major and/or degree you intend to complete. The following guides are available to help you in planning your transfer from one of the two-year UW colleges. These transfer guides are advisory in nature. As of Fall 2016, UW Oshkosh will be implementing the new Global Citizenship (GC) requirement. The GC requirement will replace the Non-Western Culture (NW) requirement in the general education curriculum. This will affect students entering UWO Fall 2016 and later. If a student entering UW Oshkosh for the 2016-2017 academic year was previously advised to take a Non-Western Culture course, this course will be recognized. If the student has not completed a Non-Western Culture course, the student will be required to complete a Global Citizenship course. Transfer guides are being updated, but they do not currently list transferable GC courses. Requirements
1. Transfer credit is generally awarded for college level course
work completed at institutions accredited by a regional or
national accrediting organization recognized by the Council
for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Credits may
be granted for post-secondary course work at a foreign
institution if the institution is recognized by the Ministry of
Education or the equivalent authority who supervises tertiary
education in that country. Students seeking transfer from
an international post-secondary institution will be referred
to a foreign credential service to determine U.S. credit
equivalents for academic work completed at an institution of
higher learning in another country (ECE, WES, One Earth).
2. Transfer courses which are the substantial equivalent of
approved UW-Parkside general university requirements
(skills, general education, foreign language*, and ethnic
diversity requirements) courses will be counted toward
general education requirements.
3. Transfer students with less than 54 transferable credits will
be required to meet UW-Parkside skills, general education,
foreign language*, and ethnic diversity requirements.
4. Transfer students with 54 or more transferable credits will
be required to meet the general education requirement by
categories, NOT the specific distribution by subcategories.
The distribution by categories is as follows:

The Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) will grant a waiver of General Education requirements (except for a 1-credit Health and Fitness for Life course). Specific college, degree, licensure, and pre-requisite requirements still must be completed with individual courses.
Associates of Arts (AA) degrees from WI and MN will grant a waiver of University Requirements AND General Education requirements. Specific degree, licensure, and pre-requisite requirements still must be completed with individual courses. AA degrees from other states are reviewed individually to see if they qualify for a similar waiver.

The Admission Office at UW-Stevens Point determines whether credits earned at another institution will transfer to UW- Stevens Point and how those credits will apply toward UWSP general degree requirements. Please note the following general policies regarding transfer credit:

We accept a maximum of 72 credits from two year colleges.
Generally, you will receive credit in courses for which you earned a D or higher. Credits must come from institutions that are accredited by a regional or national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Courses must be similar in nature, level, and content to course work in our undergraduate curriculum. Continuing education course and courses that are remedial, technical, vocational, or doctrinal in nature are not transferable.
The appropriate academic department will determine which credits apply to your major or minor*.
Credits transferred from other institutions are not used in calculating UWSP grade point average. The UWSP grade point average is determined only by credits and grade point earned at UWSP. However, transfer credits and grades are included in the calculation of the grade point average in most majors and minors and in the determination of graduation honors.
To graduate from UW-Stevens Point, you must earn at least 30 of the total number of credits required for graduation in residence at UWSP.

Transfer Credit Policy

Credit earned in institutions of higher education which are not accredited is generally not accepted for transfer. However, credit may be granted for post-secondary work from non-accredited institutions by examination and/or upon department evaluation of course syllabi and other program information. Courses must be similar in nature, level, and content to a course in our undergraduate curriculum and applicable to one of our academic programs; this includes courses that are technical or vocational in nature. Continuing education courses, graduate-level courses, and courses that are remedial, or doctrinal in nature are not transferable.

All credit that is transcripted is evaluated including what is awarded for experiential learning or other forms of prior learning or relies on the evaluation of responsible third parties. Credits earned through test-out at one institution and is clearly indicated on the official transcript, will transfer to UW-Stout as it would under normal transfer circumstances. These credits may include: Retroactive credit for foreign language; Test-out credit for that institutions's actual course (as opposed to elective credit). Credit earned by means of any other test (Advanced Placement, College Level Examination Program, International Baccalaureate) must provide UW-Stout with an original score report to receive credit pre-determined by departmental review based on score received. Dual credit courses or programs for high school students are considered equivalent in learning outcomes and levels in achievement to its higher education curriculum by means of receipt of an official college transcript from a regionally accredit institution. College level courses completed at other colleges or universities that do not transfer exactly as a UW-Stout course will transfer as an elective course within that discipline or a related discipline. Elective credits may count toward a degree in the same way that a direct course equivalent does. In addition, college level courses completed at other universities that hold general education/liberal arts requirements, diversity or global perspective designations but do not transfer exactly as a UW-Stout course will transfer as an elective course which holds a similar designation attribute. Whenever possible, this course will be used towards similar general education/liberal arts requirements at UW-Stout.

We will work with you to transfer as many of your credits as possible from other universities, University of Wisconsin Colleges, Minnesota community colleges, community or tribal colleges, technical colleges, military programs or any other institutions.

Students can transfer courses from an accredited college, university or community college; as long as the courses are in a similar curricular with a grade of "D" or higher, the credit should transfer. Some degree programs require at least a "C" or higher in order to transfer. It's good practice to keep a copy of your course descriptions, syllabus and catalog from the college/university/community college where the courses were taken.

Once your application is complete, we will prepare a transfer credit evaluation for you. This means that we will convert your prior courses to the UW-Whitewater course numbering system. When a transfer course is determined to be equivalent to a Whitewater class, a specific Whitewater course number will appear on the evaluation. If the course(s) you completed are not directly equivalent to UW-Whitewater classes, you will be awarded elective credit. Courses that are considered non-transferable to UW-Whitewater will not appear on this evaluation. All credits will be reviewed for transfer to UW-Whitewater if the courses were completed at a regionally accredited college or university.

The transfer evaluation contains information regarding both the course work as completed at another institution as well as the transfer equivalency information. Course work is listed by institution in chronological order, following your academic career as you completed the work. Course information (such as MATH 1000) listed to the left side of the evaluation details the classes accepted as they were completed at the other institution(s). Other information listed here includes the dates of completion, the hours completed, the grade listed on the transcript, and the University of Wyoming equivalent course (if applicable) and/or University Studies Program credit.

Transfer Equivalencies

There are four basic equivalencies for transfer work to the University of Wyoming:
Specific Courses at UW--Many of the courses transferred to the University of Wyoming transfer as specific UW courses, and are from that point forward recognized as UW courses (not by their transfer designation).
General Transfer Credit--If there is not a course at the University of Wyoming that is exactly like the transfer course, but that transfer course is considered to be college level work, the course will come in as general transfer credit. This means that you will receive all of the credit for completing the course, but that it doesn't necessarily fulfill a University of Wyoming requirement. We recommend that you discuss these general transfer credit courses with your adviser; he/she may be willing to use some of these general transfer credit courses within specific degree requirements.
University Studies (UNST) Requirements--Sometimes the course fulfills the spirit of the University Studies, or general education, requirements without specifically matching a course already offered here at UW. If this is the case, the course is loaded as fulfilling a specific UNST course code. For example, many writing courses from other institutions are recognized for fulfilling the WA or WB writing requirements at UW, but are not exactly like the writing courses offered here. Instead, the course is transferred as fulfilling the WA or WB requirement without necessarily having the direct equivalent.
Not Accepted--In rare instances courses transferred to the University of Wyoming are considered to be not acceptable. Reasons for this are detailed below. This means you will not receive any college/UW credit for this course work, and it is not listed on your transfer evaluation.

Transfer Exceptions

There are three basic exceptions for transfer work at the University of Wyoming:
Repeat Courses--Course work transferred to the University of Wyoming is evaluated against the UW rules for repeating courses, not the transfer institution. If a course is taken more than one time, only the last occurrence stands; the others will be repeated out of the student record and no course credit will be received for earlier attempts.
Excess Credit--The University of Wyoming limits total overall hours for specific types of courses, and this also may not have occurred at the transfer institution. If more hours are transferred than are accepted at UW, the additional credit will be excluded from the overall evaluation. For example, the University of Wyoming limits PE activity course credit to four total hours. If a student transfers six hours of PE activity, credit will only be given for the first four hours, and the last two hours will be considered excess credit.
Not Accepted--Credit that is not accepted is most often considered either technical in nature or remedial course work. Course work that is not academic, including such work as vocational training, construction, cosmetology, is not transferable and will not be listed on the transfer evaluation. In addition, work that is considered remedial, such as sentence structure or beginning or intermediate algebra, will also not transfer to UW and will not be listed on the transfer evaluation. The university accepts only academic courses in the study of religion similar to those offered by the Religious Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Students who have been registered for one or more courses at another regionally accredited college or university must have an official transcript sent from each college or university previously attended. The registrar will evaluate each transcript received and determine which course or courses will be accepted as transfer credit. Technical coursework may be considered for transfer provided the coursework is appropriate to a liberal arts education. The evaluation of this credit is completed by the Registrar's Office and is final. Evaluation of transfer credit is not recorded on the academic record until the person is actively enrolled as a degree candidate at Urbana University. Graduate credit is not applicable toward an undergraduate degree.

Credit Transfer Policy

At its discretion, the University may accept transfer credit from accredited and nonaccredited institutions and miscellaneous sources. These may include:

(1) accredited institutions, (2) foreign universities, (3) U.S. military credit for approved job and educational experiences, (4) credit by examination, and (5) miscellaneous sources, such as internships and nontraditional learning experiences. Further details about these sources are shown below.

The following evaluation criteria for acceptance will be used:

(1) accreditation status of the institution, (2) recognized national standards published by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and by the American Council on Education, (3) guidelines given by the State Board of Regents (including guidelines for CLEP and AP credit), and (4) recommendations given by various University units having appropriate academic competence, including the Faculty Senate, as well as college and departmental curriculum committees.

Acceptance of credit should not be confused with its application. Transfer credit may or may not apply to the graduation requirements of Utah State University, regardless of the number of credits transferred.

Credit other than that intended wholly to meet the General Education requirements of the receiving institution will be applied on the basis of the appropriateness of credit to a particular institution's specific degree program requirements as determined by the receiving institution. At Utah State University, coursework acceptability will be determined by the student's major department.

Credit for quarter courses numbered 100 or above, or for semester courses numbered 1000 or above, earned in the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) is transferable within the System and will be carried on the student's transcript by the receiving institution.

In order to transfer credit to Utah State University, official transcripts of credit must be submitted to the Admissions Office. Submitted transcripts become the property of Utah State University, and will not be returned. Transcripts from all institutions previously attended are required.

Guidelines for Transferable Credit

Transfer credit earned at institutions that are accredited by one of the six regional accrediting associations will be accepted if the work is parallel in nature to programs offered at Utah State University.

The six regional accrediting associations are: (1) Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Higher Education (MSA); (2) Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU); (3) North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Higher Learning Commission (NCA); (4) New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc., Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (NEASC-CIHE); (5) Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS); and (6) Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities (WASC-ACSCU).

Utah State University may award credit for academic work completed at institutions that are not regionally accredited if the courses:
articulate to University Studies or General Education requirements at USU,
correspond to recognized standards published by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and the American Council on Education (ACE), or
are approved by the department and college in which the subject matter is taught at Utah State University.

Utah State University does not accept transfer credit from nonregional-accredited institutions in those cases where USU lacks an academic unit to evaluate such transfer credit.

Subcollege-level courses which are developmental, remedial, or preparatory are not transferable.

Vocational-technical courses are generally not transferable. Exceptions may be made by individual departments if the coursework is pertinent to the student's major.

Religion courses are generally not transferable. These courses will be evaluated based on the particular orientation of the course. In order to be considered, courses in religion must be listed on an official transcript from a regionally accredited institution.

Credit may be transferred from recognized international universities. Transcripts or documented evidence (translated into English) must be presented, indicating successful completion of coursework. Courses must be consistent in level, duration, and content with courses offered at American universities. Subject to evaluation by Utah State University, to ensure credit is granted in accordance with USU policies, credit may be earned through the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), and International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) examinations or by taking Advanced Placement (AP) examinations while a student is in high school.

General Transfer Credit Acceptance Policy
UVU accepts credits from regionally accredited (see below list) Colleges/Universities as long as the courses taken were college level (considered transferable) and completed with C- grades or better.

Courses in religion will be evaluated on the basis of the particular orientation of the course as determined by the UVU Religious Studies Committee. In order to be considered, these courses must be listed on an official transcript from a regionally accredited institution and must demonstrate scholarly rigor and critical engagement with the subject matter.

Evaluation of Transfer Credit
Upon acceptance, students will receive a transfer evaluation showing with courses transfer to Valdosta State University. To see which courses will transfer from your institution, please refer to Transfer Credit Equivalency.

Transfer credit is granted based on the following criteria:

VSU grants transfer credit for courses taken at regionally accredited colleges and universities.
VSU gives credit for Technical Colleges with a COC accreditation. For a complete list, please visit Acceptable Courses from Technical Colleges web site.
A maximum of 90 semester hours of credit may be applied toward a bachelor degree.
VSU does not have a "forgiveness policy" for repeated grades. All grades from academic courses are listed on the student's VSU record.
If you have completed the General Education core requirements at a -University System of Georgia college, you do not have to meet VSU's general education requirements as long as you maintain the same major in transfer. A change of major may affect areas of the core.
Core is considered complete, with the exception of lower division pre-requisites, for all students who have earned a bachelor degree prior to enrollment at VSU. Advisors will assist you in an upper division program of study.
Transfer courses will be assigned VSU course numbers if they are equivalent in content and level. For those courses without an exact equivalent, the course will be assigned a number based on the level of the class. All 1000 level will transfer as 1XXX, 2000 level as 2XXX, etc. If these courses are not marked as core, your advisor will determine how to use these courses in your program of study.
The following codes may appear on your evaluation of credit:

1. % following a grade means the course was used to complete a high school course deficiency and cannot be used toward a degree
2. a letter in parentheses following a course indicates the core area from a previous University System of Georgia college
3. the letter "R" in front of a grade means the course was repeated

Students transferring HIST 2111/2112 or POLS 1101 from a college outside Georgia must take a Georgia exemption exam

Valley City State University accepts transfer credit from regionally accredited institutions of postsecondary education. Before transfer credits are evaluated for specific course equivalencies or program requirements, the credits must be accepted by the Office of the Registrar according to university policies and procedures.

Transfer courses are first reviewed to determine if the credits are accepted as a course equivalent to a VCSU course or applied toward a general education or program requirement. College-level credits that do not have a direct course equivalent or do not meet a specific program requirement will be accepted as general electives and count toward total credits required for graduation.

Transfer students who are dissatisfied with the course equivalency determinations may consult the Registrars Office or the appropriate Division Chair, in an attempt to more precisely define equivalencies or identify appropriate substitutions. If necessary for transfer evaluation, students are responsible for providing course descriptions and course syllabi.

Total hours earned from all transfer institutions are entered on the Valley City State University transcript. If necessary, credits will be converted to semester hours. Transfer courses and grades appear on the official VCSU transcript and are used in the calculation of cumulative grade point average.

Transfer credits are reviewed only after a student has been offered admission. Once an offer of admission has been made, a faculty committee in the school to which the student has been admitted will review his or her transcripts. The Office of Admissions does not evaluate transfer credit.

Entering freshmen who have received college credit prior to being offered admission must report such work to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. At the student�s request, after admission, the dean of the school will determine whether such work may be credited toward the Vanderbilt degree. Credit will be awarded only if the course is regularly offered by an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, if the teacher was a regular faculty member of that institution, and if a majority of the students in the course were candidates for a degree at that institution. This question must be settled in advance of the student�s first registration at Vanderbilt. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions does not resolve issues of credit transfer; all decisions are made by the dean of the school to which the student was admitted.

Vanderbilt does not offer dual enrollment credit under most circumstances. If the course in question appears on both the high school transcript and a college transcript, the student will receive credit only one time for completion of that course.

Vassar offers transfer credit for courses in the liberal arts and sciences which are the approximate equivalent in content, methodology, and rigor to courses listed in the Vassar catalogue. We do not offer transfer credit for physical education (excluding dance), Pre-professional or vocational courses, business courses, or other similar subjects. One Vassar unit is the equivalent of 3.5 semester hours of work. Procedure 3.21.1 Undergraduate Course Credit Transfer
Part 1. Purpose of Procedure. The purpose of this procedure is to specify consistent practices for accepting credit for undergraduate college level courses transferred into Vermilion Community College, except for courses that apply to the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum as per policy 3.37 Minnesota Transfer Curriculum.
Part 2. Definitions.
Subpart A. Joint Statement on the Transfer and Award of Credit. The Joint Statement on Transfer and Award of Credit provides principles, criteria and guidelines for institutions to use in developing criteria, policies, procedures and practice in transferring and awarding credit. The statement was approved by the American Council on Education, the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation in 2001 and endorsed by the Higher Learning Commission in 2000,
Subpart B. Articulation agreement. An "articulation agreement" is a formal agreement between two or more educational entities to accept credits in transfer toward a specific academic program.
Subpart C. Developmental course. A "developmental course" is a course designed to prepare a student for entry into college level courses. Developmental-level course credits shall not apply toward a certificate, diploma, or degree. Refer to Procedure 3.3.1 Assessment for Course Placement.
Subpart D. Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS). The "Degree Audit Reporting System" is an electronic system that provides for an evaluation of a student's academic record indicating completion toward the student's academic program requirements.
Subpart E. Regionally Accredited Institution. Colleges or universities that are accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation www.chea.org.
Subpart F. Non-Regionally Accredited Institution. Colleges or universities that are not accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation www.chea.org.
Part 3. Determining Transfer Credits. Vermilion Community College shall determine if transfer credits apply to its academic program and graduation requirements. The college shall follow program requirements as specified in Policy 3.36, Academic Programs.
Subpart A. Determining course comparability or equivalency. The course to be transferred must be comparable in nature, content and level to courses offered by Vermilion Community College. In evaluating courses for transfer equivalency, the standard for review should be not
less than 75 percent comparability of course content. For courses in a sequence, students need sufficient preparation to succeed in the next course in the sequence.
Subpart B. Transferring credits according to articulation agreements. Vermilion Community College is required to accept any credits defined within formal articulation agreements it has with a sending institution. The college is only required to accept transfer credits according to articulation agreements it has approved.
Subpart C. Transferring occupational/professional course credits. Vermilion Community College shall accept in transfer as electives up to 16 semester credits of occupational and/or professional courses which are not comparable or not equivalent to specific courses taught at the college. Vermilion Community College may accept occupational and/or professional credits beyond 16 credits if the college determines they contribute to an educationally coherent program.
Subpart D. Transferring credit granted by a regionally accredited institution. Vermilion Community College will accept credits granted by a regionally accredited institution, including credits granted by another college or university for prior learning by assessment or examination (credit for prior learning).
Transferring credit granted by a non-regionally accreted institution. Vermilion Community College shall determine if it will accept credits granted by a non-regionally accredited institution through prior learning assessment or examination (credit for prior learning).
Subpart E. Transferring credit granted by an institution outside the United States. Vermilion Community College shall determine if it will accept credits granted by an institution outside the United States on a case by case basis.
Subpart F. Evaluating developmental courses. Developmental courses shall not be granted college-level credit and they shall not apply to certificate, diploma, or degree program completion requirements. However, a developmental course appearing on a student's transcript shall be evaluated to determine the student's readiness for college-level coursework at Vermilion Community College.

Transfer Credit
If an applicant has attended another VSC school prior to the 2002 summer term or another college outside the VSC system, Vermont Tech requires official transcripts. These should be sent directly to the Office of Admissions from the college at the time of application.

There is a $50 fee for evaluation of transcripts outside of the VSC. This evaluation is normally completed after the student's acceptance of the offer of admission and the fee is billed to the student's account. Early transcript evaluation can be made for applicants who pay the evaluation fee in advance.

Generally, credit for applicable college courses taken may be granted for those courses completed with a grade of C- or better or C for any science course required for PN, ADN, DHY, or RSP; however, the transferred grades will not be computed into a student's Vermont Tech GPA.

Courses taken at an accredited institution on a pass-fail basis may be transferred. However, Vermont Tech may require the student to obtain a grade equivalent in the course from the institution at which the course was taken.

Examinations may be required to show competence of subject material. Vermont Tech will be the final judge as to what transfer credit it accepts. Transfer credit varies depending upon a number of factors, such as the student's academic record, the college or university selected, and the program selected.

Credits earned within the VSC are transferable to other colleges or universities only at the discretion of the receiving institution.

Credit Transfer
Credit transfer requires a grade of "C" or better in the course without regard to grades achieved on other courses of the same sequence or the average grade for the sequence. Credit transfer also requires that content of the course be accepted by the appropriate VMI curricular head toward fulfillment of baccalaureate degree requirements in the curriculum.

Transfer courses that can be applied to degree requirements at VMI are determined by the curriculum selected. Transfer students are encouraged to review curriculum requirements in the VMI Catalog to ensure appropriate course selection. No more than one-half of the total hours required for VMI graduation may be transferred. Quality points are not transferable. Quality points earned at other colleges before transfer to VMI are not counted in the computation of the 2.0 quality point average required for VMI graduation.

Applicants who have attended a regionally accredited college or university are considered for admission to all sessions. Applicants must have a cumulative average of "C" (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or above and be in good standing at the previous institutions. Courses eligible for transfer must be college level courses with a minimum grade of "C".

A transfer applicant with fewer than 24 semester hours must submit an official copy of the high school transcript as well as copies of the SAT or ACT scores along with the college transcript.

An applicant transferring from a Virginia Community College or Richard Bland College, who completed the requirements for the Associate in Arts (A.A.) or Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in the College Parallel/College Transfer Program, may be granted junior status at VSU upon admission. Maximum of 66 units from a junior or community college may be transferred.
Maximum of 84 units overall may be transferred to the bachelor's degree.
Courses numbered 100 or higher may be eligible for transfer credit.
Transfer credit is awarded toward all categories of course work in University College—General Education, Major, Advanced, and Elective. See notes below and speak with an advisor for restrictions.
