Thomas Wilsted has been serving as the Director of the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center since 1996. Prior to this position he was Associate Director of the American Heritage Center (1990-1996); Director of the Salvation Army Archives and Research Center (1978-1990), and Manuscripts Librarian, National Library of New Zealand (1973-1978). He received his B.A., History, in 1966 at Kalamazoo College and his M.A., History, in 1968 at the University of Wisconsin, and holds the title of Certified Archivist by the Academy of Certified Archivists since 1989.

Mr. Wilsted served as President of Archives and Records Association of New Zealand (1976-1978) and has been an Honorary Life Member since 1978; listed in Who’s Who in Library and Information Services (1983-). He has received the Sister M. Claude Lane Award in recognition of distinguished service in the advancement of church archives, co-presented with the Society of Southwest Archivists (1990); the Waldo Leland Gifford Prize as co-author of Managing Archives and Manuscripts Repository (1992); and the Philip M. Hamer and Elizabeth Hamer Kegan Award as creator and project director for Teaching History Through Documents (1994). He co-authored Managing Archives and Manuscripts Repositories, Chicago, 1991.
